hey all - sorry for the lack of updates, my laptop had to get mailed out to the doctor, and it took them over 8 weeks to get it back to me. Evil bastards those Geek Squadies.... I haven't been a complete slacker without my laptop however, got a few new pics to scan in and post as soon as i get a day off.

Well I might as well update you on the world of me: work is fabulous - love my job. I play with beluga whales, walruses etc so who can complain. Sure the hosing of poo kinda sucks, but today I started working on training a whale to do a barrel roll. I get to man-handle him into a spinning frenzie... and considering the chubby quality of his blubbery belly, its a squishy adventure. ^_^ I just wish i didn't have to find a new job in june... unions really suck when you aren't allowed to join them. grr.

anyhow, thats all i got.

SO life is good once more, the stylus pen to my wacom tablet has finally been recovered! (i've been without for about 4 months now...) NO idea where it was, but it just 'magically' appeared right where it was supposed to be on its shelf.. i suspect my mother's tampering...

anyway- new developments on the home front:

I'm in a cover band! so thats most likely where my creative energy will be going for the next few months while i learn songs and get ready for shows and stuff. (uber excited!!!)

well thats it for now, if anyone would like me to draw them a pic, that would be lovely - i need ideas.

Sorry for no updates - I'm so busy with the zoo that it's crazy! you'd think the whales and polar bears would take a weekend off or something! cant really complain though, i LOVE my job. I just wish I got paid more... minimum wage is awful!

some funny stuff- at the zoo we keep track of all the stupid things that idiots say at the zoo - here are a few:

(two teenagers looking at the tapir's) 1. Wow! look at the cow! 2. Thats not a cow, its a panda!

(a family looking at the beluga whales)
little kid squeals: White dolphin!
mom: no honey, thats a white shark.
husband: are you serious? (he says staring at her in disbelief)

a school group walking through the zoo:

kid 1 notices a bird walking through the park: TEACHER! ITS A HUGE COCK! (referring to one of the many peacocks..)

later on by the walruses (same group)

the walruses are hauled out and sleeping on the beach...
kid 2: are they dead?
teacher: No, they're just sleeping.
kid 2: they look dead...
teacher: nope, just sleeping. See look, Basa just moved her flippers...
kid 2: Oh, i get it.. they're robots.

(and kid walks away bored.)

Dumb questions I've been asked after beluga whale presentations:
1. Do they have brains? (asked by an adult..)
2. Do you ever worry about them escaping?
3. Why do they eat?
4. (my favorite..)
guest: Are they boys or girls?
me: They're both boys.
guest points to our chubby whale: Is that one pregnant?
me: .....


aside from that, i have bad news.... my stylus pen is missing! i have a bunch of new line art to touch up and start coloring, but i cant do anything! It blows. Maybe one day i'll buy a new one, but right now i have no cash what so ever. *sigh*
